From 1940s, Jesuits have been trendsetters in the field of education. They designed their education to address the needs of the time basing on the Spirituality of St. Ignatius´ Spiritual Exercise. In Ignatius´ days, schools were run to form the Catholic Community that was both well-educated and honest.
Though more than 475 years the Jesuits are involved in education, still there is a search to address the present day issues in order to make a difference in the field of education itself and then in the life of the people. The issues are undoubtedly many and varied, Nonetheless, the corcerns - environment, media, networking, dialogue, excellence, leadership, pastoral possibilities, lay collaboration, reflection strategies, national regeneration, building a community corss-borders, education of the under-previleged, etc grip us today, which call for a change. These and more are addressed in the schools of the Jesuits.
